Green Campus Initiatives

1. No Plastic Day

The college actively observes No Plastic Dayon every third Saturday as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability. On this day, students and staff are sensitized about the harmful effects of plastic usage and are encouraged to adopt eco-friendly alternatives. Awareness programmes are organized within the campus to promote responsible waste management and plastic-free practices.

2. Vehicle-Free Day

To reduce air pollution and promote sustainable transport, the college observes Vehicle-Free Day every Tuesday. On this day, students are instructed to come to college by bicycle or on foot. Faculty members are encouraged to practice carpooling or use battery-operated vehicles. This initiative significantly contributes to reducing carbon emissions within the campus.

3.  Promotion of Battery-Operated Vehicles

The college promotes the use of battery-run vehicles within the campus to minimize noise and air pollution. These vehicles are used for administrative and essential purposes, supporting the institution’s goal of sustainable mobility.

4. Plastic Waste Collection by NSS

The NSS unit, with active student participation, regularly conducts plastic waste collection drives across the campus. These initiatives help maintain a clean and plastic-free environment and instill a sense of environmental responsibility among students.

5. Green Plantation Drive

In addition to waste management initiatives, the college actively undertakes plantation drives across the campus. Saplings are planted and nurtured by students and staff, contributing to improved air quality and a greener, healthier campus ecosystem.
